Wow, what an honour: Vivian is listed in Fortune’s 40 Under 40

Big news: I am honoured to have been included in Fortune magazine’s 40 Under 40 for 2023. This year has been incredible and beyond the imagination…

The annual 40 Under 40 list shines a spotlight on influential individuals under the age of 40 who are shaping business.

Here are some highlights from my interview with Fortune, after hearing the incredible news:

  • It is such an honour to be recognised by such a prestigious organisation and to be among other entrepreneurs who are making the world a better place.
  • I dedicate this distinction to my ancestors, who went through many hardships, and who carry both a legacy of trauma and a legacy of resilience; they showed me through their example how to survive.
  • This is another accolade for which I feel immense joy and gratitude, but the greatest reward for me is the words of encouragement and recognition from other professionals and, above all, the tears of joy from clients who have changed their lives and achieved their goals. I’ll never forget a client with multiple sclerosis who told me, “When I go in for another MRI and worry about a panic attack, I think about your voice and it calms me down.” For every single person whose life is changed by what we do, our goal has been achieved and that is our highest honour and reward.
  • I feel humbled and honoured to have been called “the mother of online counselling for expats”. What a blessing!

Here’s the full Fortune magazine interview (in Greek), where I talk about Expat Nest’s progress over the last 10 years, the joy of having my work recognised in this way, and our next steps.

A huge thank you to my colleagues at Expat Nest. None of this could have happened without your support.

And thank YOU for being a part of this community. You have helped me to realise my dreams and you continue to inspire me with your grace and fortitude.

Awards are wonderful, but it is the everyday showing up, the opportunity to support internationals and see them changing their lives, that motivates and inspires me.

With love
Vivian
