I recently had the honour of meeting Amal Clooney at the WOBI World Business Forum in Milan, an event that brings together global leaders and visionaries.
Standing beside Amal, a woman whose dedication to human rights and the fight against genocide is known worldwide, meant so much to me. This is definitely a highlight of my year!
As an Assyrian descendant from a people who have endured multiple genocides, her work resonates with me on both a personal and professional level.
My life’s mission at Expat Nest has always been to support the emotional wellbeing of internationals. But I’m also, in my own way, deeply committed to advocating for cultural heritage and the recognition of historical injustices.
This photo is a symbol to me of the importance of recognising genocides across the world.
Meeting Amal felt like standing next to a force for good: she is warm, present, gracious and powerful. She is beautiful inside and out, and a role model for Middle Eastern women and beyond.
My heartfelt thanks to my friend Tasos Spanidis for making this dream meeting possible. He is one of a kind, he knows the weight of history, and he is an amazing human being and entrepreneur; he makes things happen.
